[Abs] Is discipleship for me?, I asked. Sobrang tagal ko na kasing nagpe-pray para dito pero parang hindi naman ako umuusad.
[Kuya Lance] It is ok to doubt and express it and go through with it. Remember that as humans we always act based on our convictions. We do things because we know it’s the right thing to do. God made us that way because He wants us to be responsible for our own choices and actions.
After a session, Myki asked me: “When would a person leave his/her vices”?
I answered: “Once they were totally convinced that it’s the right thing to do.”
Myki answered back: “Why can’t they just leave it? They knows it’s a sin.”
I replied: “Well, they may know it’s a sin but them, it’s the right thing to do. No one sins because they don’t want to sin. People sin because they live in sin and sinning is the right way to live.
“Well, they don’t know any better.” said Myki.
I replied: “Yes, they don’t. That is why I want us to show them that there is something better. That there is life outside sin and it’s possible to live in that “kind” of life. A right kind of life – a sinless life, a life connected with God.”
And what is true with sin avoidance is also true with doing good for the Kingdom. We may all know it’s the right thing to do and yet we still live our lives as if it’s not true. No one does what is right because of guilt or duty. People do right things because they live in light and living in the light is the right way to live.
Let our light shine among men,
